Obviously, as an aerospace engineering major, it is important for me to keep up with the industry. I have chosen to go into the more space related aspects of the field. Although my undergraduate research was in hypersonics, I have gone with reentry vehicles as my focus within the project.
I'm a huge space geek, and I always have been. I've had multiple books on stargazing, I was lucky enough to go to Space Camp when I was in 5th grade, and my favorite class is the orbital mechanics class that I'm in this semester. I hope to graduate and either work in space systems design or continue with my research through graduate school. NASA is something I feel is extremely important to the United States, and it should remain a priority.
I also love the whole genre of hard science fiction (even some soft scifi gets in there sometimes too) and I geek out about textbooks and nonfiction new releases. I personally think it just makes me more awesome.
